movie review

This week while on fall break Kinley Shankles and I went to see the new Taylor Swift movie in Texarkana. Since we had to be back on Friday for the football game on Saturday, we decided to make a day out of it and do a little shopping while we were there. The movie itself was a lot more enjoyable than I anticipated it to be, I have said many times that I am not a Swifty, but after watching this movie I might change my mind. The movie was her entire concert, going into it I thought it would be more of a documentary but I was pleasantly surprised that I actually got to watch her concert. I knew almost every song that she played and was shocked about how long the movie and concert was, the movie was 2 hours and 48 minutes long, but it didn't feel like that while watching it. I thought the way the movie was put together and the way the producers showed how much the fans loved Taylor was really sweet to watch.

However, I didn't agree with how they upped the cost of the movie tickets. The tickets were priced at $19.89 which is the title of one of her albums and although it's cool I shouldn't have to pay $21 to buy a standard movie ticket. The $21 didn't include anything but your way into the movie, most regular movie tickets are around $14, so the cost of the movie ticket should have stayed the same. I think if they wanted to make the tickets cost a certain price to go hand and hand with the title of her album that she is rereleasing, they should have made it to wear you received some sort of trinket along with the ticket. I know for an additional cost you could buy the special popcorn bucket along with a matching cup, but when the price of a regular popcorn is $10 I can't imagine the cost of the Taylor bucket.

The way the Taylor Swift movie was advertised with the special merch and how much the movie made, it reminds me a lot of the Twilight movies and the way the Twilight fans were so obsessed with the movie and attending the midnight premiere. I remember my sister had an entire shelf of Twilight merch from t-shirts to board games. The Taylor Swift fandom is something that is so impressive, and honestly, after watching the movie I really have a new look at Taylor. I grew up listening to Taylor but would never consider myself a Swifty, I went to her concert when she toured her 1989 album and it was amazing but I am not a ride-or-die fan. After watching the movie I will say that it made me remember how much I enjoyed listening to her music.

The movie theater itself was pretty comfortable, I will say that most theaters nowadays have reclinable seats, but this theater didn't which really shocked me because of how updated this Cinnamark was. Overall I was really happy with my experience at the movies, there weren't any lines to get tickets, so we walked right up and bought the tickets there, I didn't have to stress about missing the start of the movie because of the long lines getting popcorn. Although the prices were a bit higher than I expected them to be it was definitely a good movie. The best part for me every time is getting popcorn, I love movie theater popcorn so I was definitely excited about that.

Legal Constraints on International Journalists

Brazil has been navigating a complex landscape regarding the privileges and restrictions faced by journalists. On the one hand, the country has a robust tradition of press freedom, enshrined in its constitution. However, this favorable environment coexists with a series of challenges and restrictions that have raised concerns both domestically and internationally.       One major concern is the increasing violence against journalists in Brazil. The country has seen a rise in attacks, threats, and even killings of journalists, particularly those covering sensitive topics such as corruption, crime, and environmental issues.
